Procrastination

I procrastinate... ALOT, mainly because of the huge variety of games available to me. as such still no progress on the transistor computer although i have been thinking about it alot maybe once i have some more money i will be able to give it a go, My game i have been ahem "working on" for the past 6 months has really gone no where because of my procrastination. however this is mainly in part to when i was working on it using java i was doing hours of work for very little which was quite tedious to say the least, now i am working with C++ and the ogre 3D engine things should start to pick up as theres lot's of pre written code which will help be rapidly develop not only do i want to get all this done by i also need to A. do college work(PISSING ME OFF I SIGNED UP FOR AN IT COURSE NOT AN ENGLISH COURSE /rant) and B.The HTA database and it systems which is rather time consuming as MySQL is like the retarded son of Lua. anyway if i can get myself to work on something it will then completely take over my life untill finished to i just need to get a pre alpha build of the game and the database built then i will be away and it won't take me very long.

Things i would like :- )

Razer Hydra PC Gaming Motion Sensing Controllers

Razer Hydra PC Gaming Motion Sensing Controllers Including Portal 2
I love the portal games and this add's more levels  and a whole new game play mechanic not only that it would be a cool thing to try and develop applications for.
Price: £90
is it to much just to extend the game? Yes, yes it is, but none the less it's on the list.

A Gaming keyboard & Mouse CHECK

im not set on any keyboard in particular as they all seem to have mixed reviews and considering the cost i think my keyboard is fine for now however it would be nice to get a cherry mx blue keyboard...

im not set on any mouse in particular either mine serves me well enough though i do like the look of the razer Taipan with the extra buttons on the side i might be able to use them to use a knife and zoom the scope of weapons more easily although again it's rather expensive coming in at around £60
I got the Q Pad 80 and the cm storm recon :D

Corsair Neutron GTX 120GB

I have wanted an SSD for awhile now i original  intended to have  2 in raid 0 but due to the lack of trim support for raid arrays i feel a raid 0 wouldn't be worth the cost and the read and write speeds of this drive will still see a huge performance increase coming in a £100 this is a very reasonable purchase. (i also want a 3tb hdd but i didn't think that would be cool enough to make it on here again £100 for a WD green 3tb)
Corsair,Neutron,GTX,120GB,2.5",SATA-III,Solid,State,Hard,Drive,

A new case!!!!

i currently have the Cooler Master Elite 335 which was intended as a tempory case here we are one and a half years later... and i still haven't replaced it, it looks similar to this except with only 1 side panel fan mount
Cooler,Master,Elite,335U,Black,Midi,Tower,Gaming,Case,
I have now replaced this with a corsair c70! :D

Water cooling

This is something i am going have to think about... this is how i see it atm (pro/cons)

Closed loop water cooling (think corsair hydro series)

Pro's

  • cheaper
  • much safer
  • easily moves from system to system

con's

  • Only used for cpu cooling
  • will eventually become unusable when a new socket type comes out
  • restrictive tubing
  • worse temp

Custom loop water cooling

Pro's
  • Can cool everything in your system if you want it to
  • better temps
  • can replace individual components such as CPU block instead of replacing the whole loop
  • it's possible to add multiple radiators
  • looks epic(MAJOR FACTOR :3)
Con's
  • leaks
  • more costly
  • wouldn't be able to shift it to a new case very easily
  • only works with reference design gfx card's for gpu cooling
  • Maintenance it's recommended to drain and refill every 6 months (would i be upgrading a components every six months anyway?)
  • upgrading requires more work
So yea that's what i think about it i would either be getting a H100i
Corsair,Hydro,H100i,Water-Cooling,CPU,Cooler,

or a custom loop not sure what i would use yet, probably a 5 and a 1/4 inch drive bay mounted pump/reservoir though such as the X2O 750 from xspc
118 300x272 X2O 750 Dual 5.25” Bay Reservoir Pump
probably have a dual radiator setup 1*280mm radiator 1*280mm radiator preferably both in a push pull config with some quiet fans ill also replace the acrillic in the side of the case so the awesomeness is actually visible :3

side note i would also like to water cool my graphics but this seems somewhat point less until i have a cross fire/ sli set up using reference cards i will be waiting a good while before replacing my card...

Games!

Lot's of games!!!
Skyrim (played it totaly legitimately... and want the updates and dlc's so yea that would be awesome)
Planetary annihilation LOOKS FREAKING EPIC nuff said.
Chivalry looks quite good
STEAM ON FREAKING UNBUNTU!
It's here now i just need to make the full move to unbuntu
arma 2 (my failing to realise that arma 2 free had been removed from steam has rendered me unable to play DayZ :-(  got it now :D

Laptops and tablets

I would like both a decent laptop and a tablet although i wish they would hurry up and standardize both laptop and tablet components so it's possible for me to build my own : / but i mainly want a tablet so i have a way of controlling everything from there (lights, tv, pc, ect, ect) and i would like a laptop for use at college.

Halo 4 :(

Halo 4 is not a good game... poor campaign (doesn't feel like playing a halo game) and multiplayer that feels very repetitive and unique playing experiences are far a few between it also made me realize that consoles Suck 720p no anti aliasing D: MY EYES THEY BURN, yes games aren't all about graphics and i agree i wouldn't mind if it looked like halo CE as long as i could get some damn AA and maybe even 1080p

Windows 8

Windows 8 sucks, Windows 7 support will soon be dropped, get Ubuntu.

Halo 4!

HALO 4 WOOT WOOT although i do have some things about it that anoy me heres the list
Price: £40 for a game WTF! im getting it anyway but after playing pc games for the last 2 years i have only spent maybe £100 total on all the games i have i have about 60 games in my 2 steam accounts so this really annoys me
Xbox 360: SO LOUD for basically a jumped up calculator it's so fucking loud not to mention the fact that i can't play across 3 monitors or in 1080p for that matter... also no antialising coupled with 720p is horrid
XBOX LIVE:
you have to pay to play online thats just redonculus espessially as once ive played halo 4 to death i won't be using it for any other games.
also no progress on the transistor computer yet, got lots of college and other work to be doing and fitting in 12 hour gaming sessions so i don't really have all that much time to do it atm probably gonna start at the end of term lots to learn tho

The mighty transistor

Hello again good patrons of the internet or more likely me in several years time(what are you up to by the way) I have decided as I know little about computer hardware on a transistor scale I am setting out on a project to create a pong game with nothing but transistors(for the logic parts) I have been looking in to this and the more I read the simpler is seems I wish my self luck on this logical path to greater knowledge!

Catch up and Parallel computing

It's been awhile since i last posted on here and a lot has been going on I started college loads of games are coming out i'm developing some software and most recently the parallela project.

College
so im at Derby college the Joseph Wright centre not really what I expected I thought that the classes would consist of people like me who know what I know, where as only one or two people in the entire course actually know much about computers as such i have been rather bored as most of the topics that we have been covering i already know to a advanced level or are basic stuff such as "work skills" or "employability skills" so yea looking over the course i think i may enjoy the second year more than the first as we will get to do server side code and game development.

Games
GAMES HELL YEA! loads of awesome games are near released castle story, Dayz stand alone, planetary annihilation, sim city 5 and halo 4. YAAAAAYYY the only problem i have now is time management 1min course work 23 hours and 59 mins games :3 that's should be fair enough.

Parallela project
The parallela project is going to revolutionise the computing industry there offering a 64 core 800mhz chip which is near  51GHz of total computing power, not only that but each of the computers has 4 chips on it.
that's nearly 200GHz of total computing power... this is even more insane when there offering it for $99
my hopes are that motherboard manufacturers will get on board and create compatible motherboards so that personal computing can move into a faster age this will enable games to have graphics indistinguishable from reality and if that wasn't awesome enough each chip will use a maximum of 5 watts considering things will one twentieth of the computing power today, use 90-120 watts no matter what way you look at this it's an incredible jump forward.
So that's a few things that have been happening recently....
i also upgraded my pc.... again....
i plan to upgrade my case

Cpu cooler,
Hard drive

add some ssd's (2 in raid 0)
and get three monitors
also i shut down malinor minecraft :'(  mainly due to work load, and my lack of interest in regular minecraft.
although i may start malinor 3.0 a tekkit server built on the ruins of old malinor but it would have to be set up in the holidays as i have very little time for it anymore.
Any ways.... SEE YOU IN ANOTHER SIX YEARS!
